Well, as of yesterday I’m another year older (definitely) and wiser (nope, still going to make the same silly mistakes as before). My darling hubby bought me some Brusho paints. If you haven’t come across them before they are little tubs of powered paint/ink. You can either sprinkle them on dry paper and then add water or add water and sprinkle the powdered pigment into the water. The latter is what I have experimented with the most, mainly because the minute my kids saw what I was doing they wanted to play too. It is really magical watching them work. I thought I’d show my first attempts.
It is such an addictive way to paint. I’m waiting for a quiet moment to sit at my desk to have another play.

Thank you. Whenever I paint with watercolour I tend to make everything neat. You can’t be too precise with these as the powder inevitably gets where you don’t want it! Hannah x

Happy birthday Hannah, I love brusho, so much fun. I have also used them as normal paint by pre mixing with water first, only a few sprinkles of colour needed, popped into a container from a hardware store, with 20 small compartments. They paint very subtle tones, have a look at my fish ( if you type fish or brusho into my search bar) oh and brusho is great in a spritzer, when you need a colour quick 😀 I can see why your children wanted a play too….by the way dylon fabric dye works the same, some colours the granules are larger, so I crushed them up a little more. If I see dylon on offer in the cheap shops I always purchase some.

I bought some 2 or 3 months ago and every now and agian, I get them out and play with them. Like you, I try to control them – but I’ve realised that it would be better to allow them more freedom, so I’m working on that and trying to see how to make them do what I want them to do … but in the way they feel happy doing it. (if you ‘get’ what I mean).
I’m just having a ton of fun with them, and have found myself wasting whole afternoons just playing with them, with watercolour papers and a spray/spritzer bottle of water. SO much fun. I love them and can see that you already do too.
